The City Council reaches an agreement with the car park concessionaire to «offer solvent alternatives» to mobility in the city
Twenty-four hours, 5.95 euros. That is the rate for the Barnés car park that residents and visitors of Murcia can now enjoy
This offer applies to those who have to park their vehicle in the Santa María de Gracia, Ronda Norte, and Primo de Rivera axis, which have been affected by a reduction in on-street spaces due to ongoing mobility works. An offer that extends, due to its proximity, to Juan Carlos I.

The Murcia City Council has reached an agreement with the concessionaire company operating the car park, iPark, to make the 360 available spaces accessible to users for that price (the remaining spaces up to the total of 585 are dedicated to rentals). The price per hour is 1.8 euros, but it does not exceed the cap of 5.95 euros.
The Councilor for Mobility, José Francisco Muñoz, stated this Tuesday that the objective of this agreement, which he hopes to extend to other concessions, is to «offer reliable and solvent alternatives to mobility» in Murcia, especially after the changes produced by the works. He added that due to the proximity to public transport such as buses and the tram, it «will facilitate intermodality».

The Operations Manager of the concessionaire, Samuel Arranz, highlighted during the presentation of the agreement that the company's goal is to «maximize the use of the facilities, which in this case are in a privileged location». Furthermore, he said, it «reduces the driver's concern about the car when carrying out their errands»
The Councilor for Mobility also pointed out that this initiative is part of the objectives set by the City Council regarding mobility in Murcia: offering dissuasive and economical parking; placing the vehicle a maximum of 8 minutes' walk from the final destination, intermodality in the use of transport means; the regulatory norm for the use of scooters and bicycles; and the balance between the use of private vehicles and sustainability.
